My Testimony

How Jesus Changed My Heart

It is with joy that I write that I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, my Precious Savior.  I truly was lost and now I am found, I was blind and now I can see.  I was literally delivered from darkness (I used to have terrifying nightmares of being lost in darkness before I was saved) by the light of the good news that God loved me enough to send his only son to die for me, a terrible sinner.

I grew up very religious in a religious household.  I attended Catholic schools through high school and worked hard to please God.  By  the time I entered college, I was tired of trying to please God.  It seemed a lonely, uphill battle.    I went on to achieve great success in my field but once I got married and had my first child, a sense of great bewilderment and confusion overcame me.  Surely, I should be happy,  I had achieved the American dream: A great husband, six-figure income, cute baby and a Lexus.  What was the matter with me?  I began to pray and seek God as best as I knew how.

I was very surprised when a physician I was training with first shared the Gospel with me and invited me to his church.  I began to read a Christian magazine that I would often find in the hospital where I was training with some interest.  Finally, a colleague who had grown up Roman Catholic and been recently saved began to really talk to me about giving my life to Jesus Christ.  Eventually, I began to attend the church of the first physician who had witnessed to me and began to learn more about God and His Word than I had ever known before.  Finally, after my second baby was born, after reading the book "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, I responded to his invitation at the end of the book to pray, repent and ask the Lord to save me.

I did that and the good Lord has continued to work on me since.  Thank you for allowing me to share this shortened version of my testimony with you.  There were so many more ways and people through whom the Lord worked to bring to total dependence on him for forgiveness of my sins but this is the general overview.

Won't you put your faith in Jesus Christ today?
